It’s been super rainy here in Southern Georgia, making me want to reach for the nearest knit blanket and snuggle up to a good book. Instead, we are snuggling up to the beautiful lifestyle maternity session from Dani Nicole Photography in North Carolina. There aren’t many things I adore more than a romantic maternity session where the couple is clearly head over heels into each other and this session is full of adorable photos showing just that.
A Beautiful Lifestyle Maternity Session at Home in the South
From the Photographer:
One of the most rewarding perks of being a professional photographer is having the ability to take photographs of those closest to me. My children of course always show up on the other side of the camera, but when milestones happen for other members of my family, I jump at the chance to photograph them.
Case in point, my younger sister, Liz, is pregnant with her first child. As soon as she found out, I had two thoughts: all the amazing stuff I could get her through Daily Mom (that was back when I was still with them) and the chance to do all the sessions with her throughout this journey. Well, they both happened and are happening. Before I left Daily Mom, I supplied her with the latest and greatest baby shit, and a couple weekends ago, I was able to take her maternity pictures – the first session of a couple more I want to tackle, including Fresh 48s and lifestyle newborns at home.
Liz and her husband Trent are the most laid back of couples, with no frills and no drama, a shared love of antique finds that grace their cozy home (that may or may not have been included in their album by an insistent dad-to-be…), and a passion for simplistic living. She turned down my offers of field photos in a flowing gown and insisted they be done at home, with Trent, in as quick of a time frame as possible. I may have pouted for a couple minutes, but after a few frames in her kitchen, there was nowhere else I wanted to be to capture my amazing sister’s beauty and growth. It was perfectly her and Trent, genuine perfection, and went so well that towards the end, she wanted to keep going, and I didn’t want to stop.
It’s surreal to look at these still, and see my baby sister as a soon to be a mother. Through all of our ups and downs over the years, she’s still one of my best friends, and I cannot wait to raise babies together, to help her through the trials she’ll face, and to rejoice in the milestones that are hit. This is everything life intended.
