Meet Florida Southern Mother Kirsten W. and Her Beautiful Family with Beach Photos
Motherhood means strength to me. It means being tired but feeling the happiest joy you could ever imagine — it means sleepy hugs, giggles and kissing boo-boo’s. Holding hands and seeing things for the first time through your child’s eyes – Kristen W.
How Many Children Do You Have?
1 darling boy
What are your must-have kid items?
Toy cars, Applesauce and goldfish! My son would be happy as a clam!
Tell us about what each one of your children has taught you about life, love, and motherhood.
My son has taught me patience and the definition of unconditional love.
How has having a child changed your relationship? Any suggestions on how to keep the marriage/relationship alive?
It has made us really aware of the time we have together, we make sure to schedule date nights when my family is around to babysit, whether it’s dinner or just a walk on the beach we make sure to have time together.
What are some of your most cherished memories of motherhood?
Every day is a treasure but some of my most cherished memories are when my son just runs up to me to hug or kiss me, he’s usually too busy playing or looking for bugs or birds so when he chooses to show his love through his hugs it means everything.
What most surprised you about motherhood?
How tired I would be! Everyone said it but I didn’t believe them!
What has been your greatest challenge in motherhood?
Remembering to make time for me, my whole heart is in raising my son and being a wife so sometimes I need to remember to take care of me too!
Has your style changed since becoming a mom?
Yes! I went from heels and dresses to cut-offs and sneakers! Comfort is everything!
If you get any “me time”, how do you wind down or spend it?
Do you have a family tradition that you are passing onto your child?
Growing up we always ate dinner as a family around the table, I hope to always have family meals together with my son, no matter what’s going on, sports or homework or activities, I want to make sure there’s always time together as a family.
How do you manage to keep all of the plates spinning? What helps you juggle motherhood?
My husband! He’s my rock and keeps me laughing in times of craziness!
What is your greatest joy in being a mother?
Seeing the sweet boy my son is becoming.
If you could give your child(ren) one piece of advice what would it be?
Everything truly does happen for a reason, pray on all your worries and concerns and let God take care of it.
